Hi Everyone!
On Friday we will have a special joint meeting with IEEE on Parallel Programming.
We will meet this Friday, February 20, at 4:30pm in Berry Auditorium in Glaske (NOT Longview Hall, as usual).
Parallel Programming: Challenges and Solutions
Presented by: Dr. Marian Iordache
The emergence of multicore processors has made parallel computing widespread. However, parallel programming is considerably more
complicated than the traditional sequential programming. The presentation will introduce some of the challenges encountered in writing parallel or concurrent programs and some of the possible ways to address them. Similarities between synchronization problems and Control Systems problems will be emphasized. The talk will be concluded with a discussion of current research on the application of Control Systems methods to the automatic generation of coordination and synchronization code of parallel programs.
