Hi Everyone!

The next ACM meeting will be held on January 23, at 4:30pm in LH 133. The speaker will be Elijah Lofgren. I will be presenting an introduction to using and extending CMS Made Simple. This presentation will include a live coding demo in which a CMSMS module will be developed which adds a simple visitor logging feature to CMSMS.

CMS Made Simple is a free and open source PHP/MySQL website content management system. I am a former CMS Made Simple developer and have created 4 CMSMS modules and contributed to others.

Free drinks will be provided as usual.

Two announcements:

* One of the Spring Break trips will be going to HCJB and in addition to general construction/setup help, they are looking for CS Juniors or Seniors for projects such developing software for digital radio broadcasting equipment, researching and testing computer hardware, and developing software for automated notification of inventory system activity. If you are interested, please see Dr. Graff for more information.

* There is a volunteer opportunity this Saturday morning.  Interested in helping update the Gregg County Historical Museum’s Patrons database?  Previous database experience preferred, but not required.  Saturday morning from 9:00-11:30.  Contact Dr. Baas for details.

I hope you can make it,
